Nettle Leaf is the star of this medicinal blend of tea. A mineral rich herb that assists to modulate inflammation within the body and aids in detoxification of the tissues. Nettles works to build and strengthen many aspects of the body, especially those that are under-functioning or atrophied, so that it begins to function at a higher capacity. When dealing with allergies, nettles works to drain the excess dampness from the tissues while rebuilding and tightening the mucosal membranes. In order for this remedy to work adequately, it will be important to use this tea frequently and long term, not just during active symptoms. Strong infusions are recommended, steeping for 20 minutes at minimum but overnight will prove to be the best.

Although this blend of tea will help to lessen your severity of symptoms over the long term, it will be vitally important to also work at reducing your allergen load (other than the pollen in the air) for optimum health. By reducing your overall allergen load, you will ultimately reduce your symptoms as well. One main thing to consider is eliminating all foods that you are intolerant to. Think of your allergies as a scale. If you continue to eat all the foods that you are intolerant to then your allergic load is higher leaving less room for pollen to be tolerated. By decreasing the load on your body, you will have a higher tolerance to the pollen in the air, as your body is not already at it’s tipping point.

Directions:

Use 1-2 tbsp of loose tea per cup of water. Steep covered minimum 20 minutes to overnight, strain and enjoy. Sweeten as needed.
